Layout Name:
Blackland Switching Company
Scale:
Z
Description:
The Blackland Switching Company and its connections with the BNSF in the Dallas area is the loose focus of this railroad. Era is contemporary. Switching company operates as a point to point line while the BNSF is a loop with an interchange. Layout is still in the construction stages. Layout is L shaped 2x12 on one leg and 2x18 on the other. When complete, there will be over 200 feet of hand laid (that’s right. Hand laid) track with 60 hand laid turnouts. Layout will be powered by DCC. This is an excellent opportunity to see what will be a very large Z scale railroad. While Tom hopes to have trains running (construction began in early 2009), this layout is a must to see the craftsmanship necessary to hand lay track in such a small scale
