Cripple Creek and Tin Cup
Scale:

Description:
The Cripple Creek and Tin Cup loosely approximates the Denver and Rio Grande Western narrow gauge in the Chama, New Mexico area in the late 1940s to early 1950s. A variety of C series 2-8-0s and K series 2-8-2s move freight on this line. Railroad is constructed in an 11x12 foot room with an additional staging yard connected to the layout by a wye and extending into the adjoining garage. Layout features include a carefully conceived lighting system that highlights a backdrop painted by LSR clinician Garry Rush. Features include hand laid track, engine facilities that highlight an impressive stable of motive power, kit bashed structures, and weathered rolling stock. Scenery is about 30% complete. Control is Easy DCC with Tsunami sound. Of particular interest is the use of an adjoining closet, recessed turnout controls, and cleverly designed doors that allow access and maximize layout space. This is an excellent example of what can be done in a smaller space in a larger scale
