Description:
The Great Northern between Minot, North Dakota and Spokane, Washington in the 1950-60 era is the location of this beautifully scenicked layout. Steam and diesel powered freight and passenger trains cross spectacular steel trestles and beautiful mountain scenery as they traverse this double deck railroad. Substantial freight yard and engine facilities are other highlights of this railroad. Scenery is 95% complete, with more details being added all of the time. Recent completion of a rodeo arena and stock show adds a piece of seldom modeled every day life to this railroad. 460 foot long double track main line is connected between levels by two cleverly designed helices in adjoining rooms. DC block control handles up to 6 trains at a time. Innovative construction also includes “invisible” benchwork and beautifully executed super elevated curves. This adds a stunning degree of realism to the layouts operation.
Operation:
The layout can operate 6 trains simultaneously with two throttles. It features complete double-tracked operated, simulated CTC signals, and super-elevated curves.
