The Chicago Heights Terminal and Transfer is a contemporary terminal railroad serving the Chicago area. Based on the Indiana Harbor Belt/Baltimore and Ohio Chicago Terminal line around the city, the CHT&T is jointly owned by the Norfolk Southern, CSX, and CP. It serves as a transfer/through/interchange route for BNSF, UP, CN, the Belt Railway of Chicago, and Iowa Interstate. Transfer runs from these railroads utilize the lines double track main line from staging to reach the Downtown Industrial Rail Transfer Yard where interchange is made. This yard serves as the point of origin of several switching jobs that serve local grain elevators, industrial parks, and a nearby branch line. Layout is12x22.5 feet and has been moved to a new location since its last appearance on the tour. Scenery is mostly complete, but is being altered to reflect the new location. Digitrax DCC has been added since the last LSR visit. Special features include several large structures, a photographic backdrop, and an elevated Union Station and downtown area, giving great depth to scenes
