Welcome to the Trinity River Interchange website, the official home page of the Lone Star Region 2009 Convention.
This year’s convention will be held at the Sheraton Grand DFW Hotel, a 4-star, full service hotel located in Irving, just north of the airport. We’ll get started Wednesday evening the 3rd of June and run through Sunday the 7th. We’re planning 5 full days of great fun just check it out!

Contests – I know you’re proud of that model you spend all that time building. Well, bring it to the LSR’s version of “show and tell”. Oh, and by the way it just might merit and you’ll be one step closer to that AP certificate. To see the various categories and download entry forms <click here>.
Clinics - How about 90 hours of clinics provide by over 35 presenters including the president of the Mid-Continent Region, the current and past National Achievement Program Chairman, the owner of Sierra West Models, the couple that produce the “How to” videos for Woodland Scenics, and many, many more. It reads like a who’s who in model railroading. <Click here> for more details.
Layout Tours – I’ve got some bad news about layout tours – you won’t have enough time to see them all! We’ve got 46 layouts from Z to G scale just waiting for you and we’re adding more all the time. <Click here> to check them out! Operating Sessions – Beginner? Intermediate Operator? Pro? It doesn’t matter we’ve got it all covered. How about 95 operator slots during 17 sessions on 14 of the best operating layouts in the area! How can you go wrong? <Click here> to wet your appetite!
Non-Rails –Wow! Have the ladies set up a fantastic program for the Non-Rails. Everything from making a necklace to go with the bracelet you made in Houston last year to making sew-less fleece blankets for needy kids to a wine tasting trip where you’ll get to bring back a special bottle of “Trinity River Interchange” wine. Banquet and Awards Ceremony – What a fantastic evening and social event we’ve got planned for you. And guess what? Our guest speaker is none other then Harold Carstens! Yes, you read that right, Harold Carstens, the president and former publisher of Carstens Publications, Inc. the publishers of “Railroad Model Craftsman” and “Railfan and Railroad.” Harold is a “hoot!” This should be a night to remember. Raffle and Door Prizes – Door prizes, door prizes and more door prizes! Who doesn’t like to get free “stuff”? Our sponsorship chairman as been working overtime. On top of that there’ll be some even better “stuff” for the raffle, <click here> and remember everything’s gotta go!
LSR Train Ride – Last, but a long way from least is the FREE train ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad sponsored by your Lone Star Region. We’ll get to ride in 20’s and 30’s Victorian style coaches, have some light snacks, some entertainment while we travel along the famous Cotton Belt Route!
